Medical Imaging [I] | Capacity Building /Education Track

This session will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art in national and cross-border exchange of imaging studies and of imaging reports. The definition of the corresponding use case will be covered starting from the European eHealth Network Guideline on exchange of imaging studies and imaging reports. Additionally, the reason why such guideline was adopted as relevant across the world and aligning with most deployment in operations will be explained.
The second part of the session relies on the IHE Mult-Country Working Group (MCWG) on Imaging recommendations that ensure the deployment of an effective and consistent interoperability resulting from the collaboration of 11 countries. The IHE Profiles and standards selected by these recommendations will be discussed, including the use of HL7 FHIR and DICOM WEB Services.
Finally (see Medical Imaging II), three large scale real-world deployment will be presented: The French national imaging DRIM-M project, the imaging sharing deployments across the Saudi Arabia public hospitals and the future MyHealth@EU cross-border exchanger of images. Through these examples, concrete challenges will be addressed with contribution from the audience.
